Interventional Cardiology

Dr. Maulik G. Shah is a co-founder of Atria Heart. He is an Interventional Cardiologist who completed his Interventional and General Cardiology training at Stanford University. He also trained in Internal Medicine at Stanford, and received its highest recognition as Chief Resident. He attended the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for medical school. Dr. Shah received his undergraduate degrees from Stanford University, where he graduated with distinction with degrees in Economics and Biological Sciences. Dr. Shah is board certified in several fields including Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine.

 

Dr. Shah is the physician director of Cardiovascular Services at all 6 HonorHealth hospitals in Scottsdale and Phoenix.  He is one of the first cardiologists to perform Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) in the state of Arizona. He also specializes in complex coronary stenting and radial heart catheterization. Dr. Shah is an avid clinician with special interests in coronary disease, TAVR, congestive heart failure, ASD and PFO closures, structural heart disease, preventative cardiology, general cardiology, South Asian heart disease, and women’s cardiovascular health.

 

Throughout his training and career, Dr. Shah has been involved in research at Stanford University, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the World Health Organization (WHO). He is widely published, and has presented his work at the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology national conferences.

 

Dr. Shah was raised in Phoenix, and attended high school at Brophy Preparatory. He is actively involved in the greater Phoenix community, and is a passionate Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Suns fan.

 

At Atria Heart, Dr. Shah hopes to provide a comprehensive, personalized wellness program for his patients that best prevents and treats heart disease!
